Complementing the historical pedestrian-only Shelby Street Bridge is the Gateway Boulevard Bridge just down river. Already the Gateway has become a modern landmark of the Nashville skyline. The distinctive 550-foot steel arch bridge serves the vehicular traffic that was previously routed across the Shelby Street Bridge. Crossing the Cumberland River, the Gateway is flanked by LP Stadium, home of the Tennessee Titans, on the east and by the future site of the Nashville Sounds stadium on the west. It also links East Nashville with the developing Demonbreun corridor and business district. Bell was involved in grading, drainage and paving on the bridge project. The mile-long bridge and has six 12-foot wide vehicular lanes and 10-foot wide sidewalks.
